~ Squares is a randomized game based on the quarterly scores of a game.
~ Players purchase squares of their choosing out of the 100 available squares on the board.
~ Once all squares have been purchased, numbers 0-9 are randomly drawn for each team to set up a sort of "Battleship" grid. HOME team having 0-9 (in random order) Horizontally and AWAY Team having 0-9 (in random order) Vertically.
~ The score at the end of each quarter will determine whose intersecting square wins the quarter. Note that only the second digit of the score is used for each team. For example: If the score at the end of the 1st quarter is 7 to 14, then 7 will be used for Away Team and 4 will be used for Home Team. The person who has the square where 7 (AWAY) and 4 (HOME) intersect will win the quarter. If the score at the end of the 2nd quarter is then 10 to 21, then it will be 0 for AWAY and 1 for HOME. The same method is used for the 3rd and 4th quarters.
~ The payout for each quarter will be one fourth of the overall pot. The overall pot will be determined by the amount per square times 100. For example: Squares that cost $2 each will have an overall pot of $200, therefore the payout would be $50 for each quarter. Squares that are $5 each will have a $500 pot and $125 per quarter. And so on and so forth for higher amounts of squares.
~ There is no limit of how many squares can be purchased per player. You can buy as many as you want!
~ Every square you write your name in or claim must be paid for before the deadline of the particular sheet or you will forfeit your squares and will not be eligible for winnings. NO EXCEPTIONS!
~ If a Square is already taken, DO NOT replace anyone's name with your own. The Squares sheet keeps a log every time it is edited and anyone who tries to take a square that has already been taken will be banned from playing in the future.
~ Regular Season Squares will be done for the Sunday Night Game every other week and squares must be filled in and paid for by the end of the Saturday before the game. The drawing to determine the number placement will be done on gameday or shortly after the sheet is completely filled.
~ There will be a drawing for which team to choose numbers for first with a Random Name Picker. Afterwards, a Random Number Generator will be used to determine the order of the numbers 0-9 for both teams. Home Team numbers are placed Left to Right and the Away Team numbers are placed Top to Bottom. Each set of numbers is placed in the random order generated by the Random Generator.
~ In the event every square is not filled in by gameday, there will be no drawing and submissions will be postponed until the next Sunday Game. All squares taken will remain to whom took them.
~ Tap or Click on the Squares Image below.
~ If using a COMPUTER, you should be able to click on an empty square that you want and type YOUR NAME and hit ENTER or CLICK on another square. You can repeat the process for more squares and exit the page when finished.
~ If using a PHONE, you will likely need to download the "Google Sheets" App from your phone's app store. Once downloaded, you can tap on the Squares image below, select any empty square, type YOUR NAME, select the BLUE CHECK MARK, and select more squares or exit.
~ For the people who are filling out squares for someone else, please note that there are 2 sheets within the Squares sheet.
The "Number Sheet" can be accessed at the bottom of the sheet. This is the numbered twin of the main squares sheet. You can use the Number Sheet to show someone which squares are available and they can easily tell you which numbered square(s) they want. You would then go to the original sheet (also accessed from the bottom) and write their NAME in the square(s) they chose.
Notice there are number references around the top and left to help you more easily distinguish what a square's number would be.
When a name is typed into a square it will turn blue, and the corresponding square on the Number Sheet will also turn blue, signifying a taken square.
**Note** You will need to tap the BLUE CHECK MARK in the TOP LEFT CORNER if you do not see the 2 sheet's tabs at the bottom
